Curriculum Training

To implement the Too Good programs with confidence and results, participation in a Too Good Curriculum Training is your first step. In these training sessions, you will:

  •   Explore the extensive research and rationale behind Too Good.
  •   Apply evidence-based best practices and discuss their effectiveness.
  •   Learn strategies for building resiliency.
  •   Learn how to teach essential life skills and prevention strategies.
  •   Gain valuable hands-on experience delivering the Too Good program activities.
  •   Explore the sequential development of skills and concepts through each grade level.
  •   Prerequisite for Training of Trainer Certification.

We offer Curriculum training for each of the Too Good programs. We can train as few or as many of the programs as your implementation requires. We will work with you to plan your implementation and training timeline.

To make the most of your training experience, purchase and review your Too Good program materials prior to attending the training session.

On-Site Training

On-Site Trainings are a fully customizable and cost-effective training solution. We will work with you to design a training program for the specific grade levels and make-up of your classrooms or after-school settings. On-site training sessions can accommodate groups of 10 to 40 participants. Participants can take the programs right to the classroom or after-school setting following their training.

An On-Site Curriculum Training Session is $2,000 per day plus travel expenses for the trainer.

Open Trainings

Open Trainings are a cost effective option for those who plan to train only a few individuals. These trainings feature 1-3 days of hands-on curriculum training in a group environment. Attend one or all of the sessions. It’s up to you and your implementation needs. Training sessions provide a great opportunity to network and share best practices with other professionals.

Daily sessions for Too Good for Drugs, Too Good for Violence, and Social Perspectives at the Elementary, Middle, and High School Level are on offer as well as a Training of Trainers session. Check the calendar at the top of this page for upcoming dates and locations.

Register early for the best rates.

Training of Trainer session participation is subject to prerequisites. Check the Training of Trainers tab on this page for more information.

Training of Trainers

Maximize your training investment. This one-day comprehensive session will give you the knowledge and skills necessary to train other professionals in your school, district, or community who intend to deliver the Too Good programs.

  • Learn the essentials of administering the Too Good programs.
  • Learn and apply best practices for program implementation in your school district or agency.
  • Explore evidence-based practices in prevention education.
  • Explore different personality styles and how to manage them within the training environment.
  • Learn presentation techniques to maximize your training effectiveness.
  • Learn how to organize and conduct Too Good Curriculum Trainings.
  • Network and share ideas with other Prevention Specialists.

To attend a Training of Trainers session, participants must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Complete a curriculum training session conducted by a Mendez Foundation Trainer. Attendance at     a curriculum training conducted by a Too Good Certified Trainer does not satisfy this requirement.
  • Experience in implementing a minimum of one grade level of Too Good for Drugs, Too Good for         Violence, or Social Perspectives or one complete program implementation of Too Good for Drugs &     Violence High School or Too Good for Drugs & Violence After-School Activities.

Upon completion of a TOT session, you will be certified to train in your organization or district in the Too Good programming in which you have received curriculum training and completed program implementation. TOT Certifications are valid for two years. Too Good Program Trainers must complete re-certification training to maintain certification.
